Stratford-upon-Avon

Welcome to Stratford-upon-Avon u3a!

A warm welcome, whether you are already a member, or someone looking to join an organisation which offers friendship and opportunities to learn and socialise in congenial company.

We are Stratford-upon-Avon u3a - one of 1,000 similar u3a groups nationally

u3a is a UK-wide movement of locally run groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together. Membership is open to anyone no longer in full-time employment, including those who have raised a family and are now looking for a new interest and a new challenge.

On this website and in our Newsletters you can find out what's happening in our u3a at the moment and how you can get involved in our many activities. Please do add our web address to your favourite links so that you can find us again easily in future: www.stratford.u3asite.uk

Interest Groups

"I've met so many interesting people and done so many interesting things since I joined"

At the heart of u3a Groups in the UK are "Interest Groups". These groups consist of like minded people gathering periodically to discuss or participate in subjects and activities in which members have common interests. Everyone with time on their hands is welcome to join or create a new interest group, and participate in interesting, fun and social activities.

We have well over 20 groups catering for many tastes. But you are most welcome to start a new group; we make it very simple for you. Most groups meet at a member's home, some in a church hall - and one in a pub! Some involve visits to places of interest eg, gardens, churches, care homes (gigs) etc.

As an extra benefit, our members are eligible to join Interest Groups run by other u3as in the South Warwickshire area. Links to lists of Groups offered by the other 5 u3as in the South Warwickshire Cluster are on the LINKS page of our website.

Monthly Speakers

We have an excellent monthly meeting for all members in the Methodist Church Hall opposite Holy Trinity Church. Meetings are at 2pm on the last Wednesday of each month. Each month we have a guest speaker who provides talks and presentations full of interesting information and often with music or slide shows. After a talk there is time to chat with friends over refreshments in the foyer.

A list of our speakers and topics for our forthcoming meetings is here. Please feel free to come as a visitor. If you like what you see, you can become a member.

New Members

We welcomed 50 new members during 2025, but we are still actively recruiting to keep our u3a flourishing. There are lots of opportunities to get involved and we are always keen for people to start new groups or help with the administration. As in all organisations, the more you put into it the more you'll get out of it!
